LAKE FOREST, Calif. – Continuing Fitness, the first fitness brand to launch a complete line of equipment and accessories designed specifically for mature adults, announced today that it will act as a national sponsor of the acclaimed PBS television series Sit and Be Fit.
The Sit and Be Fit series, hosted by Mary Ann Wilson, RN, and developed with a team of medical and fitness professionals, has earned a loyal following due to its effectiveness in improving the health and wellness of television viewers and program participants. Sit and Be Fit has been broadcast on PBS stations to over 58 million U.S. households annually since 1987.
“Partnering with an acclaimed chair exercise program like Sit and Be Fit was a natural collaboration for Continuing Fitness,” said John Bowser, CEO and founder of Continuing Fitness. “Our products are the hardware for the software component that fitness programs like Sit and Be Fit offer. Together we can make a significant impact on the healthy aging movement.”
“Sit and Be Fit is proud to have Continuing Fitness as a sponsor based on their commitment to providing innovative products to the mature adult fitness market,” said Wilson.
Continuing Fitness recently launched the first complete line of fitness equipment designed specifically for seniors and their needs. The company’s first two products, the Resistance Chair™ exercise system and the Freedom Flex™ shoulder stretcher, will soon be accompanied by a home gym for seniors, a full line of apparel and various strength training accessories.
The new season of Sit and Be Fit starts in September 2005 on PBS stations across the country.
