LAKE FOREST, Calif. – Continuing Fitness, the first fitness brand to develop a complete line of equipment designed specifically for adults 65 years of age and over, has launched the Freedom Flex shoulder stretcher as part of its Resistance Chair exercise system.
The Freedom Flex shoulder stretcher attaches to the Resistance Chair exercise system to increase and maintain range-of-motion in the shoulder joints. By stretching the shoulders in a controlled manner, the Freedom Flex helps treat “frozen shoulder syndrome” and increases shoulder flexibility in mature adults and those undergoing physical rehabilitation.
“We are committed to helping mature adults and those undergoing physical therapy regimens find a comfortable, easy solution to physical activity,” said John Bowser, CEO of Continuing Fitness. “The Freedom Flex addresses an area of the body that is often neglected through the use of standard gym equipment. This shoulder stretcher will help users target this area and see results.”
The Freedom Flex’s pulley system allows the user to control the amount of stretching on the shoulder. Adjustable hand straps accommodate a wide range of arm lengths. The Freedom Flex is easy to assemble and store and is ideal for use in both the home and/or rehabilitation facilities.
“The Freedom Flex is perfect as a rehabilitation tool as well as a maintenance tool,” said Chuck Heathco, Director of Rehabilitation at the Newport Nursing Center in Newport Beach, Calif. “We have had the opportunity to work with the Resistance Chair and the Freedom Flex accessory and the results are very encouraging.”
The Freedom Flex shoulder stretcher will be available in October, 2005. |
